About Biotium
Founded in 2001, Biotium develops fluorescent reagents and detection technologies for life science research, with a particular focus on molecular imaging, cell biology, flow cytometry and analytical workflows. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of dyes, probes and labelling chemistries that enable sensitive visualisation and quantification of biological targets. Its portfolio supports applications including immunofluorescence, super-resolution microscopy, spatial biology, extracellular vesicle research, nucleic acid analysis and protein detection. Biotium also maintains ISO 9001:2015 certification and develops many of its core fluorescence technologies in-house.
With over 20 years experience, Biotium has developed over 30 patented technologies, including their proprietary CF® Dyes family, a spectrum of fluorescent labels used in antibody conjugation, cellular staining and multiplex detection assays. Additional product families include TyraMax™ reagents for tyramide signal amplification, MiniMab™ single-domain VHH antibodies for tissue imaging, ExoBrite™ stains for extracellular vesicle analysis, NucSpot® nuclear stains, TrueBlack® autofluorescence quenchers and GelRed® nucleic acid stains. These technologies support workflows such as imaging, flow cytometry, western blotting, nucleic acid electrophoresis and spatial analysis by helping researchers improve signal detection, reduce background fluorescence and expand multiplexing capabilities.
