About Anatrace

Founded in the late 1980s, Anatrace develops high-purity detergents, lipids and related reagents for membrane protein research, structural biology and biochemical analysis. The company is recognised for introducing the first commercially available dodecyl maltoside (DDM) detergent and has built extensive expertise in the development of surfactants and specialised chemistries that enable researchers to extract, solubilise, stabilise and characterise membrane proteins and other complex macromolecules. Its products support workflows in protein purification, functional studies, structural determination, crystallography and custom chemical synthesis, serving academic, biotechnology and pharmaceutical laboratories worldwide.

Anatrace’s portfolio includes more than 50 detergent formulations, lipid and lipid-like surfactants, general laboratory reagents, crystallisation screens, purification tools and screening kits for detergent selection and optimisation. Product families such as DDM, LMNG and GDN are widely used in membrane protein isolation and stabilisation, while its crystallisation and purification products support downstream structural and biophysical studies. The company also provides custom synthesis and analytical capabilities for specialised research requirements.

Europa Biosite's subsidiaries distribute for Anatrace in Switzerland.
