About KACTUS

Founded in 2018, KACTUS develops recombinant proteins, membrane protein systems, enzymes and related biological reagents to support therapeutic discovery and development. The company specialises in experimentally challenging targets, including multi-transmembrane proteins, MHC complexes and other difficult-to-express proteins. Its expertise combines protein engineering, structural biology, expression system optimisation and application-focused validation to generate reagents suitable for workflows such as antibody discovery, cell therapy research, immunology, gene editing and RNA therapeutics. KACTUS has developed the proprietary SAMS™ (Structure-Aided Multiplex Screening) platform, which is used to improve expression and production of complex protein targets and enable access to biologically relevant research materials.

The company’s portfolio includes recombinant proteins, MHC monomers and tetramers, antibody target proteins, cell therapy proteins, membrane protein display systems, gene editing reagents and GMP-grade enzymes for mRNA and genome engineering applications. Product families support analytical techniques and assay platforms including SPR, ELISA and BLI, as well as protein characterisation, target validation and therapeutic development workflows. KACTUS also provides custom protein production, analytical services and specialised solutions for membrane protein research, nanodiscs, RNA synthesis and CRISPR-based gene editing, including its AccuBase® base editing technology.

Europa Biosite’s subsidiaries distribute for KACTUS in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
